Aymen El Amri

I am an independent engineer and instructor in Paris. Since 2017 I have designed and delivered training on DevOps, site reliability engineering, cloud native infrastructure and applied AI: Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab, ArgoCD, observability, DevSecOps and generative AI, in-house and open-enrolment. I have trained more than a thousand engineers, at Microsoft, Intel, Société Générale, Michelin, Orange, EDF and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, among many others, through a catalogue of more than forty programmes.

Before that I worked as an engineer and architect. I started as an independent software engineer in 2010, running Linux hosting and building custom software for client teams, and co-founded Mouat'n, an open source platform for civic participation and open data. From 2014 I took DevOps and continuous-integration engagements at ERDF, EDF and Michelin Travel Partner, then became chief technical architect at Weblib, where I designed a hybrid edge, fog and cloud architecture and set up a container-based delivery pipeline.

In 2016 I founded FAUN.dev, a platform and community for engineering teams: technical newsletters, community-published articles, a tool directory and FAUN.sensei() for courses and learning paths, read by 100,000 developers and engineers. In 2017 I founded eralabs, a cloud native and DevOps consultancy that CIO Applications ranked among the top ten in Europe, and in 2024 Ragger, an API platform for conversational agents built on retrieval-augmented generation. Alongside these, I advise technology startups.

I have written more than twenty technical books, from Docker and Git to Kubernetes, GitOps, observability, DevSecOps, Python and AI engineering, published by FAUN.dev, Packt, O'Reilly, Hanbit Media, DMK Press and Leanpub. Many of them have been translated, including into French, Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Russian, and researchers have cited them every year since 2023, including two ACM conference papers co-authored at Google and Microsoft. My articles appear in industry publications and newsletters, including the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's, InfoQ, TechTarget and HackerNoon, and the official Kubernetes blog lists my writing among its recommended reading.

I have been a DevOps Institute Ambassador for France since the programme's founding cohort in 2019. TechBeacon named me to its DevOps 100, and I won first prize in a national free-software competition. I have spoken at DevOps India Summit, Global SKILup Day, DevOpsDays, École 42 and elsewhere.

I hold a research master's in software engineering from the Higher Institute of Computer Science in Tunis and a national engineering degree in real-time computing from ISSAT, and I studied social innovation in a digital context at Lund University. I work in French, English and Arabic.
